Thigh high

Today is such a lovely, not too hot and humid.

I went to bed and woke up feeling kind of sexy and what a gal to do with all that sexiness lol. Go out for margaritas of course. I called up one of my best girlfriend and went to bourbon street and early drinks. I had errands to ran too but i had to do something with that sexy feeling i had (dont judge me lol).


 Today's outfit: blue and white polka dot maxi skirt with thigh high slit from F21, gray butterfly top from ASOS, (i went with back accessories) Steve Madden black "Dynemite" sandal , black skinny leather belt, watch and earrings from F21, white vintage cat eye glasses and red clutch from Nine West and top off my outfit with red matte lips (Estee Lauder).
PS: Yes i'm doing my best Angelina Jolie oscar leg stans lol

Monochrome

Again its a million degrees in New York and i'm not happy at all. Jamaica is calling my name extremely loud. Sigh.

Mommy asked me to ran some errand for her so i ventured out in the melting pot with a hangover from Memorial Day but you cant say no to mama :)
I went for the monochrome look (make sure all the colors are in the same family). I wore a tan and brown high-waisted shorts from MakeMeChic (i love these shorts so much i bought them in black and white too), tan pleated sheer top also from MakeMeChic, nude wedges from Nine West and a vintage brown bag with gold accessories. Nude shoes make your legs look extra long and i love it :)

Its like a million degrees here in NYC, its time like this i miss Jamaica and the beautiful beaches :(
Went out with some friends for drinks and food but mostly drinks, was suppose to go to the beach in Far Rockaway but got really lazy so decided to finish drinking at home in AC.

An A-line dress looks good on every body type, clinch the waist to give the elusion of a hour glass shape.
I wore my pink and black heart dress from modcloth, black open toe booties from Christian Siriano, a vintage brown cowboy inspired bag i got from a lower eastside vintage shop and i used the bag strap has a belt (didnt have one in the same shade). Wore my hair in a low bun bcas its HOT as hell out.

The high and low of things

I went to The Whitney Museum yesterday to check out couple exhibits and had lunch with my girls then it started to rain and ruined everything. ARGH! (I hate the rain). Its also Fleet Week here in the big apple so i'm very delighted :) So many hot sailor all over the city and i took advantage of it. Don't worry we just watched lol.

I wore a MakeMeChic purple high low (mullet) dress with a H&M leopard print belt and my favorite "Dynemite" Steve Madden tan sandals. The sucky thing about this dress is that it get crushed easily. After sitting everywhere yesterday by the end of the day i ended up looking like a crazy hobo but nonetheless i LOVE this dress. The slit and open back makes this dress SO sexy day/night.

Shopping on a buget

Its raining today so no outfit posting, i'm still in bed with Baba, my blankie and a DVR full of Criminal Minds, The Big Bang Theory and The First 48 so instead i'm going to tell you about my shopping habits and where to find great bargains.

I'm a full-time college student with a double major and I work part-time but for the most part school takes up most of my time and working full-time isnt an opinion right now, so I've learnt how to shop frugally. Shopping on a budget is nothing to ashamed of, i'm surely not afraid to say that i do. Hey i live in NY (super expensive), full-time double major student and part-time worker and i'm far from being rich so to accommodate my shopping addiction I've scrolled the web to found places for people like me.

I rarely use credit cards or store cards to shop because i don't want to put myself into debt so i use it only when i have the cash to pay it the same day.

These online ports and local stores have been a god sent. 

For designer duds on a budget i go to Smartbargain.com. They have amazing designer clothes, bags, jewelry, sunglasses and shoes priced lower than high end or their flagship stores.

Zara.com, Asos.com, MakemeChic.com, Forever21.com, Modcloth and Net-porter.com and H&M, Target, Khols, Steve Madden and DSW are also my go to fashion on a budget stores and online ports.

I tend to shop too much. I shop when i'm sad, bored or when i had a bad day and these stores and ports sure do come in handy so far i'm not in debt which is GREAT.

Kind of obsessed

So today is Mother's Day which means EXTRA loving on my mom, if that's even possible.
I'm kind of obsessed with her, i hate sharing her with people and i tend to get jealous when she's she spends too much time with other kids, lol i know its kind of crazy and weird but hey she MY mommy so i think its expected don't you?...
She the most beautiful woman in the world to me, she's my biggest cheerleader, my biggest supporter and my best friend and everyday she tells me how much she loves me. She never complains even when she should because, i'm a handful lol. She knows exactly what to say to me when i'm sad even when i tell her "i'm fine mom" she doesn't buy it, she just hugs me and everything just feel right. All i need when the world is crumbling down on me is to hear her say "Sheen Sheen everything will be alright"  and for some reason my spirits are lifted and i believe her. I wish everyone could have a mother like her because she truly is the best MOMMY in the world with the biggest and purest heart. I truly hope that when i'm lucky enough to be a mother i'll be half as great as she is to me.
Sometimes i feel like i don't deserve her because i act ungrateful (at times) and spoiled but i NEVER take her for granted and i cherish her because i don't know when she will be taken away (i hate thinking about that but its reality). Mrs James I LOVE YOU TILL WORLD'S END, infinity x infinity (yep got that from "Revenge").

And this beautiful woman right here is the next love of my llife, my grandmother (R.I.P). She taught me everything i know about life and fashion. She was and still is, one of the greatest influences in my life. She loved her some big hats and she rocked them like no other. I miss her everyday, but i know she's with me, she protects me and guides me on a daily basis. 

Feeling Blue

I've been sick for the past couple days and that's the reason for my lack of updates but i'm back :)

Today is the only day this week that it didn't rain here in NYC so i took advantage of it. Pulled out a dress that i bought 3 years ago from ASOS but never wore it. I did a little daytime and subtle color blocking with a yellow skinny belt from F21 and my mustard and gold loafers with my fave black chain strap bag also from F21 and brown ray bans. These loafers are extremely uncomfortable but God i love them, I suffer for fashion.

The streets were alive last night for the MET Costume Institute Gala 2012 in New York City for the "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" exhibit.

Peplum was a huge trend on the red carpet.
